Anzac Day, 25 April, is one of Australia’s most important national occasions. It marks the anniversary of the first major military action fought by Australian and New Zealand forces during the First World War and recognises all those who served our country.
🎖️ The Gawler RSL Sub Branch present the 2024 ANZAC Day Commemorative March happening on Sunday 21 April 2024. The March will begin at Walker Place, heading along Murray Street and conclude at Pioneer Park. The March will depart from Walker Place from 10:30am, along Murray Street to Pioneer Park.
🎖️ On the eve of Anzac Day, Wednesday 24 April, from 4:30pm to 11pm, the 608 Cadet Squadron of the Australian Airforce Cadets will conduct a Vigil at Pioneer Park. The Cadets will stand guard on all four points of the cenotaph, honouring the fallen soldiers and commemorating their sacrifice through ceremonial practices. During this the RSL, Gawler Apex Club and Rotay Club of Gawler will host a movie screening of Gallipoli and a BBQ for the community to enjoy. The movie will start at 7.30pm.
🎖️ The Dawn Service will commence at 6.00 am, Thursday 25 April 2024 at Pioneer Park, followed by a morning of activities at the Gawler RSL.
I keep meaning to do something about this front counter, so people know who we are and what we do.
Competition time, because I will never do something it seems...
The theme; 1. Alpacaccinos to appear somewhere 2. We love colour! 3. An alpaca or even our logo on there somewhere 4. Cafe themed, either with drawings or words 5. Fun, make it fun! 6. We have no predisposed idea of what it will look like, but street art style sounds appealing.
